Having received the invitation, you (or your foreign invitee) have a right to submit documents to the Russian Consulate for a visa to be issued. Thereto, one should come to the Russian Consulate office within the hours, when it works with visa affairs, knowing the number of visa support and the name of the Russian host company, or having the original invitation, 4 photos (3Х4 cm), original passport and money to pay the visa fee. For a foreign citizen staying in a country other than the state of his citizenship, a visa may only be formalized and issued, provided he/she has permission for continuous stay in this country for more than 90 days. A visa may be formalized and issued to a foreign citizen staying in a country other than the state of his citizenship, without the above requirement taken into account: 1. by resolution of the head of a diplomatic representation, or consulate office of the Russian Federation, due to the necessity of entering the Russian Federation for participating in international and national official economic, social and political, scientific, cultural, sports and religious events, or for urgent medical treatment, or due to a serious illness or death of a close relative residing in the Russian Federation 2. by resolution of the Russian Federation Foreign Ministry, as based on the international reciprocity principle. The aggregate period of stay of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation under a multiple (commercial, business) visa is set at the time of the visa’s being formalized by the relevant state authority, but for at most 90 days for each period of 180 days. We strongly recommend attending the Consulate office, where you are going to apply for the visa, and getting informed on its requirements, since each Consulate office can amend and restate its requirements without any preliminary notification. The requirements applied at all the Consulate offices of the Russian Federation Foreign Ministry include submission of a health insurance policy valid for the period of stay in Russia, as well as a certificate to confirm the negative HIV status, if a person applies for a visa for a period exceeding 90 days.
Procedure of formalization of arrival notice:
Foreign citizens, who have arrived in the Russian Federation under visas formalized with our assistance, are registered in authorities of the Federal Migration Service, provided they stay in a privately owned apartment within the City of Moscow. Thereto, one should, within 3 (three) working days on entering the Russian Federation, provide us with a copy of the foreigner’s passport, Russian visa and migration certificate, with his/her actual residence address specified. Within 2 (two) days, you will be issued with a tear-off part of the foreign citizen’s arrival notice. This document will be regarded as a certificate to confirm the foreign citizen's registration at the migration authorities at the specified address. This procedure is to be fulfilled at each entry to the territory of Russia, or change of residence in case of moving to another locality on the Russian Federation territory.
